Each year, more than 7,000 stray, lost and abandoned pets are brought into AWL. Many of them have come from uncertain backgrounds and need training or vet treatment before we can find them a loving new family.

As AWL receives no government funding, we rely solely on community support like yours to make sure we're always here for the homeless and desperate pets that arrive at our shelter.

This Giving Day, we're raising money to support dogs like Luna  -  a sweet two year old staffy who arrived at our shelter last month.

When Luna arrived at AWL she was emaciated and malnourished - this poor dog weighed just 13kg!

It was clear to our team that something drastic needed to be done, so they immediately put her on a tailored meal plan in an effort to help her gain weight, and we are proud to say she has already made excellent progress.

But sadly, Luna's story is all too common...

We have so many dogs and cats just like Luna, who need food, shelter, training and vet care before they can be adopted. And the cost of rehabilitating animals like Luna can often be thousands of dollars!

With over 500 animals in our care right now, we desperately need your support to give them the second chance they deserve.
