Each week, more than 100 stray, lost and abandoned pets are brought into AWL. They're alone, scared, and in desperate need of help.
We often don't know where they came from, but with a bit of training and veterinary care, your generosity will mean we know where they're going: a safe and comfortable new home with a loving family.
AWL is 100% community funded, which means the cats and dogs in our shelter rely on loyal animal lovers like you to give them the second chance they deserve. Your love and support will give them hope for a brighter future.

Will you help Casper and other pets in need?
This Giving Day, we're raising money to support dogs like Casper - a sweet three year old staffy who arrived at our shelter just a few weeks ago.
When Casper arrived at AWL, he was timid and frail. The team immediately saw that he was emaciated, malnourished and had a terrible infection in both ears.
The team put Casper on a special meal plan, as well as treating the terrible infection in his ears.
In the few short weeks he’s been with us, Casper has started to gain some weight and is already looking much healthier. Now that he’s on the road to recovery, Casper is showing his true colours, making friends and enjoying lots of pats and cuddles.
But sadly, Casper's story is all too common...
We have so many dogs and cats just like Casper, who need food, shelter, training and vet care before they can find their forever home. The cost of rehabilitating animals like Casper can often be thousands of dollars!
With hundreds of animals in our care right now, we desperately need your love and support to give them the second chance they deserve.
